Yellow Wallpaper4 Essay Example For Students

Yellow Wallpaper4 Essay Nicole Walker English Paper #3Dr. MurrayOct. 28, 2000 Descent into Insanity In Charlotte Perkins Gilmans The Yellow Wallpaper, an apprehensive spouse, an overprotective husband, and a huge, wet room shrouded in smelly backdrop all play significant parts in making the wife crazy. The spouses covering consideration, joined with the detached condition, instigates the apprehensive idea of the wife, making her dive into craziness to the point she sees herself in the backdrop. The writers wonderful utilization of not just the setting (of both time and spot), yet in addition of first individual perspective, permits the peruser to take an interest in the womans developing craziness. We will compose a custom paper on Yellow Wallpaper4 explicitly for you for just $16.38 $13.9/page Request now In eighteen ninety one, when The Yellow Wallpaper was composed, ladies were frequently treated as peasants. They were, generally, ruled by a general public constrained by men. The men were the pioneers, managing the home and the working environment; the ladies were under their power. The spouse, of whom this story is about, mirrors this demeanor society has towards her. Her significant other even chooses what furniture and things are to be in her room. She submits to those choices, even to the point of concurring with him. This is confirm when she says, But he is correct enough about the beds and windows and thingsI would not be so senseless as to make him awkward only for a whim(472). Spouses like this were viewed as assets of the husbands, and, considering that, they had scarcely any rights. Similarly just like the spouse, numerous ladies were accepted to be acceptable just for bearing youngsters and running a family unit. In many cases the spouse held a maid or whatever worker so the wives just bore kids and did little else. On account of the spouse in our story, her significant other, John, ventures to such an extreme as to treat her like a kid after the introduction of their child, as prove by his calling her my dear and young lady (475). He had even employed a maid to deal with the house, yet the child too. John likewise controlled nearly everything in her life. Truth be told, the main thing he didn't control was her diary composing, and still, at the end of the day she needed to conceal it from him since he didn't affirm of it. At the point when he comes she says, I should put this (the diary) away he prefers not to have me compose a word(471). Some portion of Johns issue 1s that he is a specialist. As a specialist, he controls his wifes human services, recommending her prescriptions and her general fix. As her better half, he is excessively genuinely included to take a gander at the case dispassionately, or on the off chance that he had, he may have see n her psyche going before it was past the point of no return. Not just that, the acknowledged fix at that specific time was incapable and would just serve to exacerbate his significant other (473). This fix was the result of a certain Dr. Weir Mitchell; a nerve master whose hypothesis of a rest solution for intellectually insecure patients was later seen as fruitless. In the story, the spouses foolish endeavors to treat his wifes manifestations make her crazy by assuming all liability from her and constraining disconnection upon her as a piece of her fix. Gilman underlines the wifes confinement by portraying to the peruser where the story is set. The retreat John takes his better half to in The Yellow Wallpaper is a huge, decrepit Victorian chateau very three miles from the town (470). It is encircled by broad nurseries loaded with huge supports, locking doors and winding ways. This sets the chateau well back from the street and makes many detached spots; heightening that the primar y house is well away from any outside movement (470). Truth be told, the wifes early introduction makes her consider it a spooky house and question why its accessible for rent (469). Some portion of the explanation behind her initial introduction that the house is self-destructing is on the grounds that nobody has been thinking about it for quite a while. This is evidently because of lawful difficulty including the beneficiaries (470). The manor has challenged time and climate to remain in the entirety of its weather beaten brilliance. The manors quality means that it could be a position of rest for Johns spouse, similarly as he proposed. In any case, that equivalent quality could likewise be seen as giving the chateau jail like characteristics. Additional proof that this last translation is right is discovered when his better half depicts her new room, which is clearly an old nursery/den/gym. While this room is enormous and breezy with numerous windows to allow in heaps of daylight , those very windows are secured with bars (471). With a closer look, the peruser finds that the room has a fairly dubious past. The spouse depicts the floor as being damaged, gouged, and fragmented, the mortar of the dividers as being uncovered in places, the backdrop as being detached in spots and peeled off both at the top and the base; even the bed is depicted as looking as though it has experienced wars(473 ; 471). Strangely the bed is darted to the floor and it is the main household item in the room till other furniture is raised for her. There are rings and things in the dividers and a door at the highest point of the stairs(473 ; 472). Every one of these insights regarding the room are reminiscent of a room in a sanitarium. This recommendation hints the wifes inevitable plunge into frenzy. The backdrop is the detail the spouse gets fixated on; it serves to reflect to the peruser her developing craziness. In the first place she sees it as horrendous, submitting each masterful sin (471). And still, after all that, she really expounds in depicting the backdrop, more than she does some other piece of the room. The spouse portrays the papers horrible shade of yellow, yet additionally its rambling, colorful example and exceptionally poor condition (471). As her psyche develops increasingly unsound, she follows the example constantly, at which time she starts to see bars in the paper; at that point she sees somebody behind those bars (474). The peruser can see and feel the wifes craziness developing as she responds to what she finds in the backdrop. The consideration she gives the backdrop is incompletely because of the singular setting of her room. She has nothing to do except for gaze at the backdrop throughout the day. The room is situated on the highest floor of the manor, away from all the ordinary happenings of the family. Here the creator builds up her subject of separation by moving the scene from the hopeless setting of the house to the forlorn settin g of the room. This equals the narrowing of the wifes center from all the parts of her environmental factors to simply the backdrop, at that point, toward the end, from the backdrop to herself her opportunity, or absence of it. There are no outside improvements to take her psyche off the backdrop because of her better half/specialists proclamation that she is to rest and not have any obligation. She is to have, she says, impeccable rest.(471). Since she has nothing to do except for study the backdrop, she proceeds with her quest for something more profound in it until, at long last, she sees herself caught in it, the lady she sees stooping down and crawling about behind the example (475). It is now the spouse sees the smelly smell of the backdrop just as its moving examples and changing shades of yellow (476). Her seeing that the backdrop has a smelly, mildew covered smell shows the degree of her brains rot. Toward the end, she sees the ladies sneaking in the paper, and all she want s is to free them (478 ; 479). The peruser would now be able to see that the spouse has gone absolutely and irreversibly frantic. Confirmations that recommend her craziness incorporates crawling around the room, biting the bedpost in disappointment, detaching paper the dividers, and afterward bolting the entryway, and hurling out the key into the shrubs (479, 480, ; 481). In any case, we as perusers can just completely welcome the advancement of the wifes drop into craziness and feel for her predicament since we see the circumstance from her point of view. Additionally, in light of the fact that the spouse has no name, the peruser can place oneself into the wifes circumstance. From this point of view we get a striking portrayal of what it resembles to go frantic. On the off chance that the story had been told from a constrained omniscient or omniscient perspective, a lot of detail would have been given. It would have jumbled the story, decreased the perusers compassion toward the sp ouse, and diminished the focal topic of the story (the wifes developing fixation on the backdrop her expanding insanity}). A third individual member perspective would not work either. In the first place, John, her better half and specialist, would deny that she had a difficult issue, making the peruser uninformed of the genuine circumstance. Furthermore, once more, we would feel less compassion towards the spouse. Second, if the story were described by the maid, Jane, the peruser may be given a clue that the spouse was going frantic, however her perspective would be dubious until the end. In either characters case, the backdrop would hold little centrality to the person in question. In observing the story through the wifes eyes, we can see that her psychological sickness in The Yellow Wallpaper is unavoidable. Between societys perspective on ladies around then, the spouses disposition towards her, and his inadequate cures, the wifes mental insecurity can just deteriorate. The backdr op lets the peruser follow the womans relapse into madness as the story advances. Just with the main individual perspective (the wifes) can the peruser follow this relapse of the psyche. All things considered, this is a dismal story of a womans battle for rational soundness in a uninterested society. .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c , .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c .postImageUrl , .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c .focused content region { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c , .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c:hover , .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c:visited , .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c:active { border:0!important; } .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u2941cdb4384f421168af57939567bc8c { show: square; change: b

Reign Over Me Evaluation Essay Example for Free

Rule Over Me Evaluation Essay Gloom influences all individuals. Rule Over Me is a film that manages a character in a grave condition of gloom. In Charlie Fineman’s (Adam Sandler) case wretchedness hits hard and prompts a significant conduct change. Fineman shut out significant pieces of his life including his school flat mate, Alan Johnson (Don Cheadle). In the wake of running into him in the city, it takes some time for this experience to refresh his memory of his closest companion. We learn later that this downturn is expected the passing of his three little girls and spouse in a plane accident. The news annihilates Fineman. He can't work in the public eye the equivalent and loses reason throughout everyday life, just as faith in himself. Rather than allowing this misery to distress and attempting to recover, Fineman closes everyone out and attempts to escape reality. This can be a difficult issue in today’s society. Numerous individuals are humiliated or too hurt to even think about trying to proceed onward and they let what happened direct their individual future. In this movie, coordinated by Mike Binder and delivered by Jack Binder and Michael Rottenberg, the message of wretchedness and its belongings is handed-off plainly. This film identifies with this present reality quite well; it likewise assists open with increasing the eyes of numerous who don't comprehend what misery can do. Rule Over Me manages a character who has the greatest piece of his life taken from him in a moment. While others can't tell the amount Fineman is enduring by his activities, the loss of his family pulverizes him. Rather than grieving he falls into a covert government of forswearing where he nearly overlooks their reality. A significant subject all through is Fineman attempting to fix the wrongs he did to his family, such as speaking harshly to his better half about kitchen rebuilding or not taking his shoes off. Despite the fact that they are simply easily overlooked details he ensures no one comes in his home with their shoes on and redesigns the kitchen a few times. These little demonstrations show that he despite everything recollects. There is a scene in the film where Fineman opens up to Alan, his previous flat mate. Despite the fact that he would not open up to the advisor, he reveals to Alan about what occurred. It was to sum things up yet in this scene you get the chance to p erceive what amount reviewing his past damages. Trying to say his daughters’ names makes him cry. This scene shows how hard it is for Fineman to discuss his life. All through the film, we learn gradually the eventsâ that occurred. Untouchables and even his parents in law feel that he is affronting his perished friends and family. They don't comprehend why he doesn't convey an image of his family with him or even have one in his home. They take it to the point of needing to have him submitted until he at long last converses with them and clarifies that it is so difficult to live every day and that it is so difficult to see them or anyone since he sees his family all over the place. There are numerous pundits and naysayer to this film just as supporters. The majority of the surveys I read truly focused on the part played by Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler shoulders an emotional character in this film and this side of him is undervalued. He is famously known for his interesting outward appearances and tricks. This persuades he can’t assume a genuine job yet in Reign Over Me he hits a grand slam. Similar surveys were not all that basic about Don Cheadle. He had an impact he is accustomed to playing brushing an ordinary demonstration with the infrequent entertaining statement or joke to keep the watchers ready. The on-screen characters play out an exceptionally practical situation. Their parts are rational and don’t sabotage or detract from the message of the film. From my very own judgment the film Reign Over Me brings the watcher into a world numerous individuals don’t or won’t ever observe. It consolidates phenomenal acting with a sensible story-line that transfers a significant message. They story isn't unrealistic and is truly similar to the real factors of numerous individuals today. Undoubtedly, the two entertainers play a side the watcher isn't familiar with seeing contrasted with different films Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle are known for. Different films like, Billy Madison (Adam Sandler) or Brooklyn’s Finest (Don Cheadle), these entertainers have altogether different parts. This film shows the ability in every one of the individual entertainers. The two on-screen characters play off one another during the film which takes a lot of expertise and made a healthy and classy creation. Numerous scenes are not verbatim and the ability of the on-screen characters to ad lib makes for an engaging film watching experience for the crowd. I for one prescribe this film to anyone from youthful grown-ups to the older and the entirety of the abovementioned. Rule Over Me doesn’t just recount to a story however will likewise pull the core of the crowd in a genuine and sensational rollercoaster ride. The film may have numerous pundits however I figure the two on-screen characters made a brilliant showing all through the film keeping the crowd engaged for the whole two hours and brief film. The discussion is on! Go watch the film todayâ and mull over the numerous sides and make your own conclusion. Works Cited Web Source †O., Scott. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FINANCE Example

Essays on INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FINANCE Essay Financial Risk Management at British Petroleum Financial Risk Management at British Petroleum Financial risks material to this paper are of two natures. The first one is known to be stemming from the probability of currency exchange rates’ fluctuations that may render the investment of the company in tangible assets to depreciate or appreciate over the passage of time. However, the multinationals have adopted to transfer this particular risk upon investors who buy their derivatives. The derivative is a contract in simple terms and it is called that because it derives value from organization’s real assets (Hull, 2008). The companies take risk of losing derivative’s value as its corresponding asset’s worth lowers in the open market. The profit and loss on derivates are duly adjusted in profit and loss statement of the companies. The second peril is known as price risk which stems from the possibility of companies’ salable items to lose value in the market (Salameh, 1995). There are various techniques used for managing this risk but the most favored ones are statistical tools such multiple regression analysis that is particularly deployed in order to determine the affects of several variables on the value of an outcome value. In this case, the outcome value is none other than price of a particular product. The estimates are usually made with the help of using historical mean values of the independent constructs. Additionally, it is very important to know that estimates can be wrong and erroneous and an entirely new set of realities can also emerge in the market that may defy all estimates and speculations and therefore, the management of an organization must remain open to experiencing the unexpected in the real world scenario. The value of human error must also be incorporated in the estimation process. However, the reality does not differ from what had already happened in the past in major number of cases. Based on the above argument, it can be believed that the statistical predictions about future prices of a particular product remain accurate most of the times. The industries of the world also vary on the basis of their risk potential such as trading businesses have higher risk of growing competition than technological companies whereas, the technological companies have to continue to innovate than hotel chains. Finally, the companies operating in the field of oil production have to keep a close eye on their transportation, investment and personnel costs because they are facing hefty difficulties in terms of acquiring raw oil as it is getting scarcer as time moves forwards. The processing costs are also on rise and the pressure on infrastructure is also mounting because it is required to process growing volumes of oil and therefore, it experiences wear and tear on a growing level as well. The oil processing companies are supposed to check market prices of their assets every now and then in order to remain sure about their actual value in the open market. British Petroleum is a company that is using derivatives as means of hedging against the price fluctuations regarding international currencies. The company invites investors to invest in its assets that are reevaluated so that their reasonable market prices can be determined and income and trouncing in this regard are duly recorded in the profit and loss statement of the company (British Petrolium, 2012). The company is no doubt using conventional method of managing currency exchange risk. The British Petroleum’s product demand is fluctuating for the past number of years and that is why it has been forced to use extremely sophisticated methodology for predicting futuristic prices of its offerings in the open market. The company generates value at risk tables and determines the level of danger of losing worth of its products in the market in different scenarios. The scenarios are formally known as simulations and then contingency plans are made in order to deal with each possible outcome (British Petrolium, 2012). The current market situation of the oil market is pointing out the presence of nearing singularity where companies will run out of contingency plans and risks will simply become unmanageable. The industry of alternative power sources will eventually emerge and the oil empire will have to fall sooner or later (Salameh, 1995). The companies like British Petroleum have to find new oil resources in order to keep their product costs in check but the afore-stated goal is not an easy one to achieve. The exploration for new oil reserves is getting increasingly difficult because the governments are getting more and more concerned about controlling environmental costs of oil extraction processes. Additionally, they are also looking to manage the drainage of money from local economies. Furthermore, the governmental offices throughout the world are currently getting engaged in finding ways to fuel their systems with power generating sources other than the fossil oil. The present times have been witnessing the rapid development of mechanical, hydro, solar and wind energy (Salameh, 1995). And now the process that will cause oil to become an outdated way of powering mechanics is entering into final stages where even the most sophisticated statistical models are not going to help the oil companies to determine and manage risks. Conclusively, it can be argued that BP is using methods of issuing derivatives in order to manage possibility of losing assets’ value and things are going adequately well in this area as well. However, the real trouble exists in finding ways to minimize the costs and that cannot be done without finding new oil sites. The lucrative oil sites are presently in control of nations which are more than committed to make a fortune out of them. The industry of alternative energy sources is on the rise as well and people are significantly getting attached with the notion of saving the planet and therefore, it is only the matter of time before BP’s degree of risk exposure will become unmanageable. Of adversity Essay Example For Students

Of adversity Essay It was an high speech of Seneca after the manner of the Stoics: That the good things, which belong to prosperity, are to be wished; but the good things, that belong to adversity, are to be admired. Bona rerum secundarum optabilia; adversarum mirabilia. Certainly if miracles be the command over nature, they appear most in adversity. It is yet a higher speech of his, than the other much too high for a heathen, It is true greatness, to have in one the frailty of a man, and the security of a God. Vere magnum habere fragilitatem hominis, securitatem dei. This would have done better in poesy, where transcendences are more allowed. And the poets indeed have been busy with it; for it is in effect the thing, which figured in that strange fiction of the ancient poets, which seemeth not to be without mystery; nay, and to have some approach to the state of a Christian; that Hercules, when he went to unbind Prometheus by whom human nature is represented, sailed the length of the great ocean, in an earthen pot or pitcher: lively describing Christian resolution, that saileth in the frail bark of the flesh, through the waves of the world. But to speak in a mean. The virtue of prosperity, is temperance; the virtue of adversity, is fortitude; which in morals is the more heroical virtue. Prosperity is the blessing of the Old Testament; adversity is the blessing of the New; which carrieth the greater benediction, and the clearer revelation of Gods favor. Yet even in the Old Testament, if you listen to Davids harp, you shall hear as many hearse-like airs as carols; and the pencil of the Holy Ghost hath labored more in describing the afflictions of Job, than the felicities of Salomon. Prosperity is not without many fears and distastes; and adversity is not without comforts and hopes. We see in needle-works and embroideries, it is more pleasing to have a lively work, upon a sad and solemn ground, than to have a dark and melancholy work, upon a lightsome ground: judge therefore of the pleasure of the heart, by the pleasure of the eye. Certainly virtue is like precious odors, most fragrant when they are incensed, or crushed: for prosperity doth best discover vice, but adversity doth best discover virtue.

Heineken strategizes on how to appeal to young drinkers through various entertainment sources. The company strategizes on how to rebrand Heineken so as not to be viewed as beer only meant for special occasions, but can also be consumed off-premise. Therefore the need for Heineken brand to appear more ordinary and appealing to th e young people (Elzinga, 2005). Heineken has embarked on global music initiative known as thirst, which brings together famous deejays and organizes for dance concerts in major cities and towns. Also as part of its strategy sponsors live music acts in green room sessions and inaugural Heineken Jazz Festivals. The green nights organized and the Deejay tours acts as promotion strategies for the brand amongst the younger audience. The brand has also been promoted through world of movies like James Bond blockbuster. Heineken is also a major sponsor to sports like tennis, golf and rugby (Elzinga, 2005). Why Heineken in US market chooses this segment to target them Heineken specifically focuses on urban dwelling youths because they consider them to be upgraded beer drinkers. They consume lots of beer without any fear of loss i.e. they are considered risk takers. Heineken chooses entertainment as a way to reach the young because young people like entertainment concerts. Does this strategy work? With evidence This strategy seems to work since most of the drinkers according to recent statistics are young people between age 21 and 35. According to the beverage industry the statistics shows that a young man in its mid-twenties consumes an average of 65 gallons of beer per year, while old men of over 50 years averagely 15 gallons per year (Warner, 2006).Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Planning Care Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Planning Care - Case Study Example Apart from this, he has a past history of hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and chronic renal impairment. He has history of self-medication with Panadol few times a week and admits of medication noncompliance. His current admission is due to acute onset of chest pain and shortness of breath leading to emergency admission to the rural hospital where he was diagnosed with acute anterior myocardial infarction and was treated with thrombolytic therapy. There was abatement of symptoms, and he was sent to the metropolitan hospital for coronary angiography and further investigations. Mr. Walker understands that his disease is a result of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which is caused by life-style associated risk factors. His diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes mellitus are interrelated to his dietary habits, perhaps obesity, and it in turn is causing chronic renal dysfunction, which may be further aggravated by his hypertension. His type 2 diabetes is an independent risk factor for his hypercholesterolemia, and both combined together would aggravate his atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and deteriorate the outcome in terms of adverse cardiac events. Moreover self-medication and non-compliance to medications would also worsen the clinical picture. He also understands that smoking and alcohol use are risk factors for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and they both may accelerate atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and worsen his prognosis (Tacoy et al., 2008, 402-407). Mr. Walker has been educated on the relationship between the kidneys and hypertension. His chronic renal disease will cause hypertension, and hypertension will contribute to the development of chronic renal disease. Given his baseline myocardial infarction, hypertension is major modifiable risk factors for atherosclerosis. Therefore, he was educated on the need for medication compliance and regularity of treatment (Zoccali, Mallamaci, and Tripepi, 2002, 381-386). Mr. Walker has been educated that non-pharmacologic or lifestyle measures are important not only to prevent hypertension, but his overall condition of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, hypercholesterolemia, and diabetes, all will respond to such measures. He has been educated on basic dietary measures such as low-fat diet, low-salt diet, diet high in fruits and vegetables, and abstinence from alcohol would reduce his high blood pressure, hypercholesterolemia, blood sugar, and weight, which all together would reduce his risks of coronary artery disease (Chyun et al., 2003, 302-318). Mr. Walker has been educated on physical activity and has been demonstrated what kinds of activity may be suitable for him. He has also been alerted about resumption of physical activity very slowly following his myocardial infarction. He has been told that regular exercise increases work capacity. Training increases exercise capacity by increasing both maximal cardiac output and the ability to extract oxygen from the blood. Although he appeared less motivated about doing a regular exercise program, it was stressed repeatedly to him that regularity and persistence in such a program will help him (Ignarro, Balestrieri, and Napoli, 2007, 326-340). Mr. Walker has been given information on cessation of smoking since cigarette smoking is perhaps the most preventable known cause of CHD today, leading to more deaths

Problems of students Essay Example for Free

Problems of students Essay Top 10 Problems of Students While time spent at college is a fond memory and a happy experience for most, college life is not without its rough patches and problems. While each person problems are unique to their current circumstances, I know that there are a few problems that almost all college students deal with at least once during their time at school. College is not high school so please do not think its a walk in the park. Depending on what type of school you are going to, depends on what kind of problems you are going to face. Certain problems, you going to face regardless of what type of school you are going too. Most common problems of college student are the following. 1. First Day of School ? University students also face problems with making new friends. University is a new chapter in life, and with every new chapter, we have to try to meet new people and make new friends. It is normal for people to feel shy in the beginning, especially when they don’t know anyone around them. Students should learn to step out of their comfort zones and put themselves out there when trying to make new friends. It always seems that people are always just waiting for someone to approach them because they are too shy to make the first move. So, why not try taking the first step, and maybe you’ll find yourself heading towards a really wonderful friendship. 2. Relationship Thingy! Another problem we often hear students talk about are relationship problems. University students are usually at the age where they are looking for someone to share their lives with. We hear many stories about students getting into a relationship too quickly, and things going sour because both parties didn’t know each other well enough as friends. Maybe we should accept some advice from the older generation when they always say that we should always strive to get to know a person of the  opposite sex as a friend, before deciding if there is anything more to pursue with the person. There seems to be very little success rate when rushing into a relationship with someone we do not know well enough. 3. I’m so stress. . When a person faces any type of problems in their daily life, we will definitely find that the person is under high amounts of stress. This applies very aptly to the life a university student. Students are very susceptible to stress when they have any of the above mentioned problems. One good way to deal with stress is to exercise. Exercising helps release endorphins which is a hormone that helps our body relax and feel good. Students who exercise seem to be able to handle stress a lot better than those who do not exercise. 4. Problem everywhere -. The unavoidable problem that students will have to face is problems with their studies. Whether it is a topic that is very hard to grasp, a misunderstanding with a group mate, or just not knowing how to do the work given to them, students will definitely face these sort of problems. It appears that when a student faces these sort of problems, they like to just keep it to themselves, or complain about it to their peer. The solution to these sort of problems is to address it and bring it up to the lecturer, or ask a friend if they can help you with it. Rather than just complaining that they do not understand what is going on, they should seek assistance to help solve their problem. 5. Still Sleepy \^o^/ Many students also suffer from irregular sleeping patterns. Students have assignments, projects and deadlines that appear almost daily after each class. A lot of them spend their time doing all those assigned work during the hours that they are supposed to be asleep. Some of them claim that they work better at night, but it is a  very unhealthy habit. It would be good if students could learn to finish up their work in the day time and leave the night-time to sleeping as that is the time where your body is regenerating, mending, and creating new cells. There is a discipline that should be built into a student when it comes to assignments. They should try their very hardest not to leave their work to the last possible minute. 6. My Hectic Schedule -. Another problem that university students face is poor time management. Due to their busy lifestyles, students often find it hard to find a good balance between their  studies, social lives and working lives. Students should strive to have a planned schedule for their day so that they can try to maximize their productivity and not fall behind in any aspects of their lives. Students often have to learn to be independent and responsible with managing their time, when in university, away from the direct guidance of their parents. 7. Why you’re so Slow Internet? _ With most universities and colleges making use of technology, it’s always an instant heart attack for you when it’s time to enroll in classes and check grades. To  make matters worse, everyone else is trying to access the website of your school hence the slower loading of the page and also in doing assignments and projects. You end up holding your breath while your heart attempts to break free from your body. The struggle is real! 8. Suspension Abangers *. * You stay up late at night and refresh your Twitter account every minute to see if there are suspension announcements. You wake up early in the morning with high hopes of class suspensions because the rain is too strong. You wait, and wait, and wait. You struggle with the thoughts of facing the storm or continue hoping for a class  suspension. You end up going to school anyway; but just as you’re finally at the end of your storm challenge, the suspension you’ve longed for comes and then you just stare at an empty space and mentally flip all the tables in your school. 9. Lack of Confidence There are students who do not believe in their ability to do well in college. Rather than focusing on their abilities and what they are capable of achieving, they place more emphasis on what they feel they can’t achieve. If you tell yourself, â€Å"I’ve always been lousy at math, I am going to fail this course,† then chances are, you probably will. 10. Commute line Don’t you hate it when you wake up early and leave early, but still end up being late for class because of those horrible commute lines? It’s definitely extremely frustrating when you arrive at the terminal or station only to find out that the end of the line is nowhere in sight These are just ten of the many problems that college students face. In the end, is college worth facing these problems and struggles? While students get stressed to the max, the good times outweigh the problem times and the college experience becomes one which shapes the minds and futures of many young people worldwide.

Shakespeares Othello - Character Development of Iago, Desdemona and Ot

Character Development of Iago, Desdemona and Othello  Ã‚   The three characters of Iago, Desdemona and Othello are gradually revealed to the audience as Act One unfolds. All three are linked to one another and talk to and about each other. Their characters unfold through their interaction with others and how they behave in isolation. The first impression formed of Iago comes from what Roderigo says. Being gullible, Roderigo has given Iago his purse. A character who accepts an offer like this is likely to be of doubtful reputation. The first words spoken by Iago are a strong oath. Already it is obvious that he has little respect for religion. Iago also sees little point in fighting purely in theory. He despises Cassio, partly because he has never fought physically. It becomes apparent that Iago is the dominant one in his "friendship" with Roderigo. He talks the most and has many opinions. Iago looks down upon those who serve others and explains that he is only serving Othello for his own gain: "I follow him to serve my turn upon him" (1,1,42) Insulting Othello, by referring to him solely by his race, Iago begins to show his machiavellian nature. When Othello is needed by Iago to fulfil his plans, he acts as though he is his friend. Iago has no qualms about his deceitful actions. In order to rile anger in Brabantio, he wakes him with the news that his daughter has married Othello: " Rouse him, make after him, poison his delight" (1,1,69) Iago proceeds to tell the news of Desdemona and Othello's marriage to a shocked Brabantio. He uses offensive imagery, showing the extent to which he will go to win Brabantio's support against Othello. While not in the company of either Othello or Brabantio, Iago debases the marria... ...is his trust. He foolishly entrusts his new bride to Iago. Iago has already been depicted as an untrustworthy, scheming character and it is quite possible that he will take advantage of the new situation. Iago is straight away introduced as a dubious character. Having his fingers in Roderigo's purse show his interest in money. The language that he uses is vulgar and rude and he has no shame in his deceitful actions. In order to get what he wants, Iago will do anything. This includes insulting Desdemona, an innocent young woman who does not intend to harm anyone. Her sorrow at her divided loyalties shows this. Like her husband, Desdemona deals with situations carefully. Othello is the opposite of Iago in that he does not pride himself on killing people. It may be his strong point, but he feels that it should not be bragged about, especially in noble company.

Care for the physical and nutritional needs of babies and young children Essay

When planning meals for young children it is best to meet their nutritional needs. Each meal should be the right consistency for the child and include all of the major food groups. There are five food groups, bread, cereals and potatoes (starchy food), fruit and vegetables, milk cheese and yoghurt, meat, fish eggs, beans, lentils (protein) and foods high in fat and sugar. When planning a meal the fruit and vegetables should be served at each meal and should try and have five servings of either each day. Milk cheese and yoghurts should be served three times a day and bread and cereals either as a snack such as bread sticks or as an accompaniment to a meal. Meat, fish or a vegetarian option should be served three times a day. Foods which are high in fat and sugar can be included every day in addition to the other food groups but one a child is 2 years old you can gradually lower the fat in their diet. All of the five food groups combined will give the nutrients required for a healthy balanced diet. Young children should eat according to the appetites and not portion sizes. It is good to introduce new foods to children and encourage them to try these and let the parents know what meals the children have tried to encourage a large choice of different foods. You also need to be aware of any cultural diets that may need extra consideration. Tamara Wright CYPOP 2: Care for the physical and nutritional needs of babies and young children 6.2 Some children may suffer some allergies or intolerance to foods. A child with a server allergy to nuts may react even if someone else in the room has a bar with nuts in depending on the severity of the allergy. The child may react in various ways such as swelling of the skin or a rash or start to be unable to breath easily. All instructions received from carers regarding their children should be advised to all staff and in areas such as the kitchen a photo of the child with their allergy written in large should be displayed so everyone who may be serving the child food is aware. It is best that children under 1 year are not given cows milk to drink because their digestive system cannot cope with it. Also avoid with baby’s shark, swordfish and marlin because it contains high levels of mercury and this can affect the baby’s growing nervous system. Avoid raw shell fish to reduce the risk of developing food poison. Foods that are low-fat, low calorie and high in fibre foods are not suitable for babies as they needs small portions that contain lots of nutrients and calories. Nuts should not be given to children under 5 years as they can choke on them. If there is a history of a allergy of peanuts in the family then this should be checked by a doctor. As with any type of allergy it can lead to a severe reaction, or possibly an anaphylactic shock and will need to be treated at hospital or immediately with an Epi pen. Some children have a reaction to eggs whether they are cooked on uncooked. Eggs may contain bacteria if not cooked correctly this can lead to food poisoning.

U.s. Foreign Policy Towards Belarus - 1688 Words

To: Secretary of State John Kerry From: Rob Foglia, country desk officer of Belarus Re: Recommended U.S. foreign policy towards Belarus Date: October 12, 2014 Oppression in Belarus Breaking Free from Russia Belarus has the veil of a political stranglehold cast over it by the looming and neighboring Russia. Freedoms are non-existent, a tyrant maintains control over the country, and democracy is nowhere in sight. I have a few recommendations on how U.S. foreign policy towards Belarus can help fix many of these issues, and help direct the country towards Democracy. First, I will highlight some history on the so called ‘Republic† of Belarus to help put some context on the situation. Belarus became one of the first members of the†¦show more content†¦This led to elections in the early 1990’s, and Belarus declared itself independent in July 27th, 1990, and wrote a Declaration of State Sovereignty. The newly formed republic became primarily communist, mainly because of all the Russian integration that had already occurred. In 1994, The Republic of Belarus elected Alexander Lukashenko as the President of Belarus. He was officially reelected in 2001, 2006 and 2010. However, the United States (as well as other western Nations) does not recognize the results of the 2010 elections under which the Central Election Commission of Belarus declared Lukashenko president. This is because Western countries decried the election as a farce and an egregious affront to democracy and human rights. Many of Lukashenko’s opposition leaders had mysterious disappearances. The United States and the European Union called for the release of all imprisoned former candi dates, but took no further action except a travel ban on Lukashenko. By contrast, countries such as Syria, Russia, and China congratulated the re-elected incumbent. This is just a sample of the Dictatorship that is veiled as a Republic in Belarus. Transitioning into Democracy For a nation to truly be free, certain rights have to be available to the people. Freedom of speech, press, peaceful assembly, and religion are just a few of these things.
